Dear Neighbor,
I want to welcome you to my website and thank you for taking the time to consider my candidacy. I have decided to run for the State Assembly in the 53rd District because I am passionate about public service and want to help improve our community and our state.
From my college days at UCLA where I served as student body president to my years working for Congressman Henry Waxman in Washington, D.C., I have always believed in being an active member of my community to help improve the lives of those around me. The values and ideals I learned working with such a principled leader as Congressman Waxman have always stayed with me. Whether it was working to create the first childcare center at a law firm on the west coast or serving on my local Community Council in Mar Vista, I have never lost sight of the fact that working together we can make our community stronger. That’s why I am honored to say that Congressman Henry Waxman believes in me and has endorsed me in this race.
Now, as I start my own family with my husband Peter and our twin daughters Darby and Emeline, my passion for community service has never been stronger. As California faces an unprecedented budget crisis, we must address critical questions in our educational, health care and environmental systems. No one can solve these problems single-handedly, but I know I have the skills and experience to work together with you and make real changes for working families.
I look forward to earning your support as well and hope you’ll join my campaign for change in Sacramento.
